ACB Radio to broadcast the European Blind Union General Assembly and Equality Forum

ACB Radio is proud to announce live coverage of the eighth General Assembly
of the European Blind Union, as well as the preceding Equality and
Diversity forum, both held in Antalya Turkey next week and broadcast on our
international channel ACB Radio World.

The General Assembly of the European Blind Union is held every 4 years. The
3-day event will see many decisions being made and reports presented on
the status and welfare of Blind people throughout Europe and beyond. A new
board will also be elected to carry on the work of the European Blind Union
for the next 4 years. Europe is an important player in the international
blindness movement, and its activities affect many outside Europe as well as
within it. This general assembly begins on Wednesday October 24 and
will be a good lead-in to the general assembly of the World Blind Union to
be held in Geneva in August next year.

The Equality and Diversity Forum begins on Monday October 22. This 2-day
event focuses on three main areas - the elderly, women and youth. Several
workshops will be held which focus specifically on each of these areas and
on subjects within them. We'll attempt to bring you a cross-section of
these workshops, subject to availability.

Our coverage gets underway at 05:45 GMT on MOnday morning, which is 1:45 am
US Eastern time, 10:45 pm US Pacific time (on Sunday evening), 3:45 pm
Eastern Australian time, 7:45 am Central European time and 8:45 am in
Turkey. Coverage will run to approximately 15:45 GMT (i.e. ten hours
later), with repeat broadcasts filling the rest of the day. These times
should be valid for most of the week, with the start time of Thursday likely
to be 15 minutes earlier due to a slightly earlier start time listed on the
currently available program.

You can view the program for the General Assembly at
http://www.euroblind.org/fichiersGB/progrGA2007.htm and the forum at
http://www.euroblind.org/fichiersGB/progrForum2007.htm . All times are
listed in Eastern European time (GMT plus 3 hours).

due to limited time and resources, we will only be able to broadcast
precedings in English. We hope to provide multiple language feeds of events
such as this in the future.

Technology willing, we will also be taking your questions and comments via
Email and MSN Messenger throughout the broadcast at convention@acbradio.org.

More information about the broadcasts will be provided as it becomes
available. For the latest on the broadcasts, join our ACB Radio Announce or
Friends mailing lists or check our website at www.acbradio.org.

As with all live events, our ability to broadcast is dependent on many
factors, some of which are outside our control. Broadcast details can and
may change without notice.

So join me as we broadcast live all next week from Antalya Turkey, only on
ACB Radio World.
