Chili Powder

You don't have to pay fancy prices for fancy spice mixes. Make
your own and then slowly start adding a little more of one
ingredient or a little less of another until you have your own
favorite variation. You can adapt this recipe to your own taste,
making it spicier by adding more cayenne pepper or milder by
adding less, and adding more or less of each spice.

3 tablespoons ground chile peppers or
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground turmeric
1 teaspoon dried oregano, finely crumbled
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8-1 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper

1/4 teaspoon salt 1/d teaspoon ground black

1. Combine all the ingredients in an airtight container. Shake
until all the spices are well blended.

2. Store in a cool, dark place for up to 6 months.

Makes about 1/d cup
