You don't have to frost it at all, if you think it is too sweet.  Or, if you wish, you could just make a thin chocolate glaze and spread  that over the cake.

I'm going to make this cake with the following changes:
In place of the marsh mellows going to use 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut, 
1/2 cup smooth peanut butter, and a wheel of Mexican chocolate.
I'm not sure what to do about the frosting it is way too sweet for my liking.
