Re-Post For Do-ahead Mostaccioli Recipe 

 

Ever get home and feel like cooking is the last thing you want to do? We've
all been there, and this do-ahead pasta dish comes to the rescue: Layers of
pasta, creamy tomato sauce and cheese are ready to pop in the oven whenever
you need it!!!

 

Makes six servings.

ready in:  over 5 hrs.

 

Ingredients

1 jar (28-32 ounce size) pasta sauce
1 cup sour cream
3 cups water
1 pound mostaccioli or penne pasta
4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

 

Directions

Lightly grease a 9 x 13-inch baking pan. 

Combine the pasta sauce, sour cream, and water in a bowl. Mix well. Stir in
the uncooked pasta and mix until the pasta is coated in the sauce. 

Place half the pasta mixture in the prepared baking dish. Cover the pasta
with half of the cheese. Top with the remaining pasta followed by the
remaining cheese. 

Cover the pan with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator overnight. 

When ready to cook, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. 

Remove the plastic wrap from the pan and cover the pan with aluminum foil
(do not cover with foil overnight). Place the pan in the oven and bake at
350 degrees F for 1 1/4 hours. Remove the foil and bake for 20 more minutes
or until the mixture is bubbly. 

Serve hot.
