White Lasagna

8 ounces lasagna noodles

1/4 cup butter or margarine

1/3 cup flour

1 tablespoon minced dried onion

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/8 teaspoon pepper

2 cups chicken broth

1 cup milk

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese or Romano cheese

1 (4 ounce) can chopped mushrooms, drained

1 (10 ounce) package frozen cut asparagus, thawed and drained

2 cups cubed cooked chicken or turkey

1 (6 ounce) package sliced or shredded Mozzarella cheese

1 (6 ounce) package thinly sliced cooked ham

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese or Romano cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook noodles according to package directions;
drain. In saucepan, melt butter; blend in flour, onion, garlic powder and
pepper. Add chicken broth and milk; cook and stir until bubbly. Stir in 1/2
cup grated cheese and mushrooms. In 13 by 9 by 2 inch baking dish, layer
one-half of noodles, asparagus, chicken, Mozzarella cheese and one-third of
milk mixture. Top with ham, remaining noodles and milk mixture. Sprinkle
with 1/2 cup grated cheese. Bake for 35 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes
before cutting.
