When I said I would like Main Menu to interview Mr. Riccobono,
my reason was wanting the segment was to be informed about NFB
and Virginia Tech's project, and for Mr. Riccobo to discuss his
experience as first blind driver.

If the question here of opposite opinion is meant to start a
consumer group
flaming war you need to know that that kind of discussion is not
appropriate
for this mailinglist.

I am perfectly happy to have someone on to discuss the driverless
car
project from NFB and Virginia Tech so long is the purpose is to
discuss the
driverless car. But, I have to admit that the wording of these
messages
implies something much different, and implies that what is really
being
asked for is for someone from the other consumer group to come on
MainMenu
to discuss the beliefs and policies of NNFB in regard to
driverless cars.

The report given by Mr. Brown was not biased as has been
suggested here.
There was nothing about the report that had anything to do with
consumer
groups of any kind. And, if the intent is to imply that we are
biased then
I would say to you that you apparently are looking for a fight,
and you
won'tget one here. And, to imply that if anybody else is working
on coming
up with a driverless car other than NFB that they surely are
working for ACB
is stretching things about as far as one could possibly go for
sake of an
argument.

 Chris,

By all means don't be backward in expressing your views, (well
done.
 and contacts that you gave.

As we all know it's a serious issue, for blind surely anyway,
not to be
 taken lightly!

With respect to all, let's get a balance, a debate like that I
wrote
 before.

I'm crashing out of this thread now before I bore folks to
tears!

Tony Sweeney in a frosty Dublin, driverless.

I completely understand. I was referring to Mark Riccobono, who
works
at the national Federation of the blind as the leader of their
blind
driver challenge project. He was also the guy who demonstrated
the
blind drivable car at Daytona international Speedway last year.
His
email is mriccobono at nfb.org. I understand, though, that it
might be
somewhat controversial to have one of the NFB's leaders as a
guess on
an ACB radio program. If this would be too much of a problem,
and you
would still be interested in having somebody from the blind
driver
challenge on, you could contact Dr. Dennis Hong, who is the
leading
engineer for the blind driver car at Virginia Tech. I have no
contact
information for him, but Mark would probably be able to give us
that
information. I hope this information helps, if you are at all
interested in featuring the blind driver challenge on main menu.

Not necessarily Chris, once they know what they are talking
about,

 is getting out there.

Was wearing my radio hat when I wrote that mail!

Not saying at all that Mr Brownn and David's interview is a
problem but
sure perhaps put that person of which you write to The Main Menu
team.

 Tony,
When you say opposite point of view, are you referring to
someone who
is involved in the blind driver challenge project? If so, and if
David
it would be interested in having somebody who is in vault in
this
project on the show, I can put you in contact with a good person
for
 that.

 David,

Have files something like that so perhaps I'll give that a try
too.

Was always told in my training that changing a file name could
corrupt, but no mention of file extentions!

BTw, loved the interview of driverless cars but (not being
cynical)
but could we have a balance, like someone also qualified giving
their
opposite informed point of view too; looking forward to that.

Well, here is a suggestion to try. I know you can rename a
*.mp3 to
*.m3u. So, what if you changed the extension from *.m3u to
*.mp3? I
haven't tried it, but I know that it works going from mp3 to
m3u, so
maybe it will work going back the other way too.

I was wondering if their is a way to get the old main menu shows
from 2000 to 2008 in to mp3 format? They all seem to be in M3u
format so i can't put them on my victor reader stream to listen
to.
 Thanks
